First off, I am SO sorry for being off the grid ALL summer.  I kept meaning to update you on what was going on every week, and every week passed by without a single blog post.  But I wanted to share some pics of recent items I’ve acquired at ideeli.com.

Evan Picone dress – $49.99

Casual Couture Peplum Top – $24.99

Bamboo sequined slippers – $24.99

Bamboo gold glitter studded slippers – $24.99

I’ve acquired a few other things over the summer, so I promise to catch you up on those soon.  As well as some cool pics from vacay too.  I’m glad to be back darlings!!!  I miss you; I promise.

What Does the 4th of July Mean to You?

I always love that Independence Day is really all about freedom.  And I truly believe that freedom is fabulous.  A lot of things have been happening in our country lately to make me question just how free we are…

NYC proposing to limit soft drinks to 16 oz?

States requiring all voters to have tons of identification just to register to vote?  (Disproportionately impacts the lower classes)

The State of Georgia requiring folks to take drug tests to get food stamps?

I’m just starting to wonder how long the alleged freedom we have will actually last?  I guess the good thing is that today is all about a lot of fun things too:

Fireworks

Barbeque

Red, white and blue wardrobing

I’ve started the day with a workout, watermelon and Bud Light.  And I’m looking forward to a burger, italian sausage, more watermelon and more cocktails.  :)

I hope that you all have a fantastic day planned.  And I can’t sign off without thanking ever single American that has served in the military to make it so that I can sit here and contemplate freedom in the safety of this wonderful land.  I am truly grateful.  YOU make me proud to be American.

OMG these are the super badass, designer version of the glitter smoking slippers I really wanted but refused to spend $59 on at Nordstrom Rack last fall.

I guess that means I won’t be splurging the $495 for these Miu Mius at Saks

Girl Crush Wednesday: Sue Heck

As a hard-core geek myself, I am a sucker for geeky television characters.  Jamison and I finally finished watching “The Middle,” and boy, do I love Sue Heck.  She is so insanely ridiculously funny in her own special “bless her heart” kind of way.  I especially loved it when she was dating the wrestler – I think his name was Matt.  His “please date me” Maori warrior-like chant was fantastic.  I’d chant for Sue.  :)

Don’t you just want a cross-country team hoodie?

Michelle + Jamison Super Prep Resort Wear

I was searching for the white Polo Ralph Lauren I’d spied at the local Marshalls for Jamison’s potential resort footwear for our upcoming trips to Miami and Playa Paraiso.  I didn’t find those in his size at either our Marshalls or the one near my job, but I DID find these fantastic JackPurcell gold boat shoe slip-ons for $24.99:

I wore them for dinner and drinks on Friday night and to our neighborhood BBQ today, and they were very comfortable.  I love the sassiness of the gold too.

Jamison and I spent some time tonight searching for his resort footwear, and we decided to order these fantastic red plaid Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes very reminiscient of Rodney Dangerfield’s character in “Caddyshack”:

They were on sale for only $64.99 from $175.

Seeing this 20th anniversary capsule collection from Christian Louboutin made me realize that I must’ve missed out on a serious opportunity with these leather platform sandals:

Too bad they’re $1195 at Saks.

Girl Crush Wednesday: Pink

As I read the latest edition of Cosmo (I’m counting down til the subscription ends, it’s really bad since I last read it in the late nineties), I was super inspired by the cover girl – Pink.  She is now a wife and a fantastic mother; she has come a LONG way since “There You Go” all those years ago.  And did I mention her super sick body?

She makes me really want a platinum blonde mohawk. ;)
