I LOVE Marc Jacobs handbags. I am DYING for one for my birthday in May. This classic quilted bag will last for many, many years:
Although this bag costs $1295 at Saks, it would be a lifetime investment. And perhaps a family heirloom? I mean, that makes it more than shopping, right?

I HAD to show you guys my new Michael Kors leather jacket that I bought myself on December 26th:
Black leather Michael Kors motorcycle jacket: TJ Maxx - I scored this on clearance for $119 at a fab TJ Maxx in Omaha. I will write more detailed posts on all of my pre-Christmas, Christmas and post-Christmas scores. I really got hooked up!
Silver aviator sunglasses: Random hoochie mama store at the mall – They were $4. And I love them so much. Good shape. No cheek cutting means no line through my (very bright) blush!
Blue turtleneck tunic: TJ Maxx – I got this a few falls ago. I love it – soft and longish length.
Dark blue denim leggings: Old Navy – These Denim The Rock Star leggings changed my life back in October. I scooped up three pairs on Black Friday and wore them all on my Nebraska trip!
Black leather wedge boots: DSW – I got these the day after Christmas back in 2007. And I still love them.
Metallic green snakeskin embossed Michael Kors purse: Michael Kors Outlet at Sawgrass Mills – I think it was on clearance for $69. I bought it on our honeymoon back in 2008. I still love the flashy color.
I took this shot right outside of the best Mexican restaurant in the world – El Potrero. If you are in Omaha, NE (or Lincoln or Kearney or Grand Island), it’s worth the drive to the suburbs. Very tasty and super affordable! But not very on program for me. I decided it was worth the splurge though. And I do NOT regret it. At least not until I weigh in on Saturday morning LOL.

I am a sucker for all things vampire, so naturally I am CRAZY about “Vampire Diaries” on CW. I’ve watched it since the very first episode. Bonnie Bennett, descendant of Salem witches, caught my eye early on… Mostly because Katerina Graham is a knockout!

I can’t wait to see how Bonnie’s storyline evolves for the second half of this 2nd season. I am also curious to see what Katerina does next! Loving her!

I just love this ensemble that I selected for Christmas Eve Shopping, my father-in-law’s birthday shindig/Christmas dinner and early Christmas dinner with my mother-in-law:
Green silk and black quilted lapel tuxedo jacket by Adrianna Papell: Goodwill – I’ve had this for years but only worn it once even though I am fully in love with it… probably b/c it’s a size 8.
That I got it at Goodwill means I’m sure it was $5.89 or less.
Black sequined leggings: Express – I bought these last year. One pair I actually paid the retail $98 for b/c I could not bear living without them. And knowing my desire to stack up multiples of my faves, I bought two more pairs on express.com last Christmas Eve for like $70 total.
Black v-neck favorite tee: Gap Outlet – I live for these and buy 3-6 of them in black every time I go to Gap Outlet.
Black notched boots: Newport News - These are my old favorites that just returned after being discontinued last year. These were like $35, and I ordered two more pair in brown and wine along with a clearance swimsuit (see below) for like $79 last week.
Rhinestone flower earrings: Not sure where I got these but I know they were very affordable. I wear them multiple times each week. I feel very diva-licious in them.
Chanel turquoise ceramic and rhinestone ring: I’ll admit it, I bought this on Canal St. a LONG time ago. I know, I know. Fakes are never in fashion. I’d never buy one again, but I already own it and thought it’d be a nice accent to the look.
And the other fabulous part of Christmas Eve… the birth of my first nephew, Carlos Sergio Moreno. Isn’t he a (muy grande) cutie?
With his dad Sergio
Napping in yellow, all nearly 10 pounds of him! He is the sweetest thing ever. I am already fully in love.

The Fendi baguette is a classic-shaped “grown woman” bag. The fact that it is available in animal print makes it much more my style:
For a mere $1,540, you can buy this chic yet sassy bag at Saks.

So, my thrifting at Salvation Army on 50% off clothing Wednesday was successful. I’d hoped to get some skirts and pants to replace the ones I’d just donated, but instead I found four really great blazers for a total of $21.36:
Morten Myles for the Warrens (doesn’t that sound so “Dallas”?) white short sleeved blazer with black sequined trim
Talbots black blazer with ivory stitching
Christian Dior black boxy blazer
Worthington houndstooth blazer
I am very pleased with my purchases. It was particularly hilarious when one woman started stalking me for my stuff since she had no luck finding a long cardigan. I had to remind her you can never find anything when you are looking for it (isn’t that so sadly true?). That did not seem to console her. Oh well. It was a Happy Wednesday, darlings!

So, my worries about rebuilding my wardrobe seem a bit unfounded after my super score at my local TJ Maxx’s clearance section right before Christmas. Check out my finds:
Cappuccino The Limited Drew Fit pants for $12
Navy Calvin Klein trousers for $19.99
Jones New York black pencil skirt for $29.99
Not Pictured: White denim Chaus skirt for $5 (cuz I love white clothes); Land N Sea white chino shorts for $3 [I know, so preppy of me
] and a few pairs of black yoga capris (for my workouts) for $5 and $7 each
The damage … $107.05, which is less than my Jones New York pencil skirt and two pairs of yoga pants retail for… And I got Jamison some H20+ marine daily hydrator too.

So, I have spent the last several months lusting after the Gap Really Skinny and True Straight pants. I love skinny and straight leg jeans, so why not get them for work too? Especially for 40% off in stores on Tuesday…
True Straight - was too fitted for work and too similar to my black denim leggings for casual…
Really Skinny - was way too fitted for work and also too similar to my black denim leggings for casual… seeing a theme here?
I ended up with the perfect trouser pant with the tuxedo stripe. I really loved that subtle detail! What did I love more? The sale price $34.99 PLUS 40% off means I paid less than $23 with tax!
You best believe I’ll be headed to the mall for the post-Christmas sales because I really want this pleated bow skirt in ochre.
Off thrifting at Salvation Army. Wish me luck!

I love a curvy girl. I especially love when said girl is a popular model. Doutzen Kroes is Dutch and she is fly.

Although you still have to wonder how a size 6 (at best) is considered curvy in the fashion industry while a “regular” American woman is a size 14…

Inspired by a post called “10 Things I’d Love to Have for My Apartment” on Apartment Therapy, I thought I’d take some time to think through the same question, as I am desperately hoping for a larger-than-planned bonus in the spring.
1. Hide rug - KOLDBY at Ikea for only $199
2. Hide footstool - IKEA STOCKHOLM Footstool for $279
3. Baroque-style frames for the dining room – UNG DRILL at IKEA for $29.99
4. Barcelona chair & ottoman/ daybed - not sure where either go in my home
5. New tall water glasses - like the CB2 Tambien Clear at CB2 (cuz I’ve broken all of mine due to never-ending clumsiness)
6. Black paint in dining room – getting to this I promise

7. Black and white wallpaper in powder room

8. Hardwood flooring on 1st floor
Brazilian Walnut on Lumber Liquidators
Ebony African Mahogany on Floor and Decor
9. Teak Chaise for patio – Montego Chaise at Room and Board
10. “Island” for dressing room – see right

And there are many, many more things I want too… But this is good to get started on in 2011 (while simultaneously killing all of my credit card debt.)
