Jamison has been FORCING me to watch every single moment of the “Basketball Wives” reunion show.  I started watching the show last Christmas holiday but decided to give it up after the season ended because I honestly felt it was “making me stupid.”  One Sunday afternoon a few weeks back, I watched a few episodes of the new season while the girls were in Italy.  I still think it’s a terrible show, but I am always amazed by the gorgeous natural beauty of Evelyn Lozada:

(You KNOW I am obsessed with all white ensembles)

And a lovely tan to boot.  She is certainly fabulosa!!!

My Shopping Finds: Phoenix

I know I am extremely delayed in posting these photos, but better late than never.  We started our shopping adventure at My Sister’s Closet, of which I will admit I was extremely skeptical.  But I was pleasantly surprised at the goods.  That the entire store was 30% off didn’t hurt either. 😉  I scored several items for $65:

Black silk ruffled skirt – priced at $9.99

Blue plaid Michael Michael Kors pencil skirt – priced at $14.99

Black sequin tank – priced at $12.97 (half off)

Lots of jewelry:  Gold, pink and green brooch for $9.99; Green and clear rhinestone clip on earrings for $6.99; Gold burst stud earrings for $6.99; Pearl cluster earrings for $6.99

Emerald green grosgrain belt with rhinestone buckle – Priced at $7.99

Floral printed silk shirt – Priced at $9.99

Then we headed to Last Chance, the Nordstrom Closeout Center, where I scored lots of deals.  Sadly, they have instituted some new rules since my last visit:  You can only purchase three pairs of shoes and three dresses per day.  So I had to select my goods carefully:

Red Taylor Sheath Dress with Embellishment – A steal at $19.99

Navy Suzi Chin V-neck Dress – Love this for $12.97

Black Silk Eliza J 50’s Silhouette Dress – It was only $12.97

Yellow silk ruffle front shell – OMG, $7.99 (color richer than appears)

Tribal print tank – Loving this for $4.99, on trend and perfect for a black suit

Black fur short sleeve jacket – a “splurge” at $34.90 but so chic

Nine West Collegiate Pumps in black – Only $18.99 with a manageable kitten heel

Report Black Thigh High Boots – Priced at $39.99 but all boots were 35% off

Stuart Weitzman Logoflame Black Patent Peep Toe Pump – OMG, I love this man.  And these shoes were only $49.99.  What a deal! (At Zappos on sale for $234.50)

Silver Sequin Peep Toe Kitten Heeled Pumps (not pictured, at shoe repair guy to create buckle/snaps) – Priced at $14.99 on sale for 50% off (yellow tags rock).  I know, this is the fourth pair of shoes, right?  Luckily Jo’ie bought them for me.  Yes, I paid her back in H&M jewelry. 😉

Some belts – Black skinny leather belt $4.97, Chocolate belt with great hardware $9.97

Assortment of Spanx:  Power Panties, Super Higher Power and Skinny Britches for $7.97 each (not pictured and it also turns out that I have a few other pairs on deck)

A couple of nude bras (not pictured) for $3.97 each

Then after we were rejuvenated with pizza, wings and beer, I begged for a quick run by H&M.  I found a couple of things:

Black twill vest – a wardrobe staple for me that I tossed when I lost weight and was finally able to replace!

Gold and ivory chandelier earrings – I bought them to wear at the pool at the J.W. Marriott but I didn’t want to ruin them.  I am thinking of modifying them too.  (I forgot to take a picture, sorry.)

And I saw a black elastic and rhinestone belt  (also not pictured, yes I am lazy) for less than $15 on a mannequin in Love Culture too.

It was a long day, but a very fruitful one.  A few of my favorite memories were when Jo’ie said, “How long have we been here?” after about the third hour in Last Chance.  And when a woman who was trying on every single frumpy sweater in the joint stole a white bandeau swimsuit that I’d set my sights on.  And. She. Wouldn’t. Put. It. Down.  And I KNOW she didn’t buy it, but we couldn’t wait her out any longer.

Blow Your Paycheck Friday: DVF Agatha Silk Shoulder Swirl Dress

OMG, why must Diane do this to me every time?  I SO adore this dress.  I am not so certain that green is the color for me with my green undertones, but boy, I would SO rock this Agatha Silk Shoulder Swirl Dress:

At $345, it’s not very “blow your paycheck’y” BUT I just had a massive shopping spree in Phoenix (see post), Homecoming trip planned to the University of Pittsburgh in October, and a Christmas trip to somewhere (Yes, I have no idea where the where is right now.  We are thinking skiing or beaching, but we are on a <2K budget for the trip so we’ll see) so I really have to watch my spending carefully for the rest of the year.

Still, the thought of hosting my Christmas party in this sexy little number is a wonderful idea.  My red Jeffrey Campbell Kimi pumps, and I am a festive chica.

Get the dress at Saks.  My beloved Kimi is sold out.

Girl Crush Wednesday: Florence Welch

Her music is awesome.  I adore her flaming red hair and general fabulosity too:

My favorite image of her is trying to picture the scene that Blake Lively described in Glamour magazine – Florence, standing on a table in Christian Louboutin platforms, freestyling ferociously… then falling down in front of her family.  She totally sounds like my kind of girl.  Can we hang, Florence? 😉  For real though.

Blow Your Paycheck Friday: Gami Lame Polka Dot Jacket

I am in love with Diane von Furstenberg and her story of the woman she always wanted to be.  I am SURE you know that by now.  When I saw the fall collection, I DIED for this black and gold lame polka dot jacket:

What is somewhat ironic is that I have a VERY similar short blazer, but that does NOT stop me from loving THIS jacket.  However at $645, my similar jacket – acquired at Goodwill – will have to do.  At least for now.  Get it at Saks.

OMG, every time I see “Aarti Party” on Food Network, I kinda want to die.

The cute voice, the adorable smile, the delicious Indian food… I love you, darling!  I need to make some Chicken Tikka Masala soon, huh.

Yes, it’s a million degrees outside all over the country, but this morning I asked myself a basic question:  what do I want for fall?  And this coat is just that:

I need a super sexy black coat, especially one with fur.  This is SO it.  It’s a shame that the price tag is $4495.  But maybe I can find a “low” version.  Get the “high” at Saks.
